One American's Response to Osama bin Laden's Letter to America

How is it that only the Israelis know
that World War III started on September 11, 2001?

I have written on more than one occasion since 11 September 2001 that World War III was declared by conservative Islam against the United States and the West when your colleagues flew those airliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon (and apparently tried to fly one into the White House as well).

Your Letter to America published in English translation on Sunday, 24 November 2002 in the Guardian Unlimited's Observer contains some of the best evidence yet that I'm right about that assertion.

Two Misconceptions Corrected

Mr. bin Laden, many observers and pundits within the national and international news media are continually voicing their collective opinion that attacks by conservative Muslim terrorists against America and America's interests have come only because our nation supports Israel's right to exist as a nation. These voices have clamored for the discontinuation of America's military and economic support for Israel because they have concluded that if the United States were to abandon Israel, conservative Islam would then leave America alone.

Meanwhile, others of my fellow citizens continue to insist that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance. America's current president holds this misguided view. In a press briefing held as late as 16 October 2002, Ari Fleischer, Press Secretary to President Bush, claimed that "the president believes and knows that Islam is a religion of peace." Fleischer also said that "the president emphatically rejects" any "line of questioning" that would suggest otherwise.

Taking this politically astute, but theologically foolish, view to its logical conclusion, president Bush has banned from the White House American Christian leaders such as William Franklin Graham and Pat Robertson who have voiced loud and clear warnings about the threat you and your followers pose to America and the West.

Frankly, Mr. bin Laden, your Letter to America demonstrates how misguided those other views are. Your Letter to America makes clear that the following conclusions are warranted:

First, that America's support for Israel plays only a small, indeed, an almost insignificant role, in crafting the motivations for Islam's declaration of war against the United States and the rest of the world; and,

Second, that conservative Islam is no religion of peace and tolerance. Its peace, if any, is that of the grave. Its tolerance, if any, is that of the tyranny of slavery.

The Sting of Partial Truth, but Total Error

The tragedy of your Letter to America is not that its contents are 100% false. The tragedy is that several points you raise in your Letter to America are true. Like a broken clock right twice a day, you have called America to repent. And you are right. Much of the West needs to repent.

But that repentance will not take place before the face of your false 7th century A.D. demon moon god, Mr. bin Laden. The United States and much of the West needs to repent before the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose descendants you despise and whose Christian counterparts you have pledged to destroy.

Mr. bin Laden, you are correct about much of what you say regarding the decadence of the West, but you are wrong about everything else you write about us. That is why you and your misguided adherents to that demonic religion Islam will lose their struggle in the end, even though for a short season your forces of darkness will be given authority to shatter the power of God's holy people.

Why You are Wrong, Mr. bin Laden

The fundamental reason why your position is wrong is that you have fallen into the trap of thinking that the true and living God needs people like you to defend him. You, your colleagues, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and every other repressive religious system ever invented throughout the world all believe the same lie—that God's honor must be defended at all costs, and that you and your followers are the ones who will do so.

How weak, impotent, ignorant, stupid, and powerless your Allah must surely be, because you think he needs to be defended. How strong we infidels must be against your defenseless Allah! You must avenge his slighted honor with airliners sent crashing into buildings. With "Hamas-ide" bombers blowing little children and the aged to pieces on public buses in Israel. With car bombs planted outside recreational areas in Bali. With assassins murdering medical clinic workers in Sidon, Lebanon. And other offenses too numerous to mention here.

Mr. bin Laden, the God I know needs no defense. His Word stands strong, and He is capable of disciplining the entire world, if need be. He judged the entire world once before, in the days of Noah with water, and He is certainly capable of judging it again—with fire, if it so pleases Him—without any help from you.

Our Rebuttal of Your Letter to America

And so it seemed to me that someone should answer the incoherent ramblings that you have published in your Letter to America. As you know, Mr. bin Laden, paragraph numbers do not appear in your original letter. We have taken the liberty to number the paragraphs that comprise your Letter to America for purposes of academic review and to facilitate accurate citation of specific sections. Also, in accordance with international standards of scholarly rebuttal, we refer to you in the third person singular, not in the second person singular. All words appearing in quotation marks in this rebuttal are direct citations from your Letter to America.

Here then, is my response to your Letter to America.

Bin Laden is Wrong about Israel

Bin Laden claims that "The creation and continuation of Israel is one of the greatest crimes, and you [America] are the leaders of its criminals." (Letter, ¶10). He contends that all claims that "the Jews have a historical right to Palestine, as it was promised to them in the Torah," are "fabricated lies". (Letter, ¶11) But he's wrong about this. As Dr. Robert Morey notes in his well-researched web article entitled Are The Arabs The Descendants of Ishmael?, bin Laden's claims to the land of Israel rest entirely on three false assumptions:

	All Arabs are the descendants of Abraham through Ishmael.
	Ishmael and his descendants were included in the covenant God made with Abraham.
	Since the Abrahamic covenant included the land of Israel, the Arabs have a legitimate claim to it.

But each of these three assumptions is demonstrably false. Ten historically documented facts support the falsity of these three assumptions. Here's a list of them:

	According to the Torah, when Abraham left Ur of the Chaldees, he went West to what is now called Israel (See Genesis 12). He became a dweller in tents in that land. It was in Israel that God made a covenant with him for the land in which he was living at that time. It was in Israel that he fathered Isaac, Ishmael, and many other sons and daughters. Isaac was the only son of Abraham chosen by God to be the heir of the covenant. Abraham took Isaac to Mt. Moriah to be offered up as a sacrifice to God.
	The Torah is contradicted by Qur’an at nearly every point. According to Surah 2:119-121, Abraham and Ishmael did not dwell in tents in Israel but in the city of Mecca in Arabia. Together they rebuilt the Kabah and placed the black stone in the wall. It was Abraham who started the tradition of an annual pilgrimage to Mecca, throwing stones at the devil, etc. Abraham took Ishmael (not Isaac) to nearby Mt. Mina to offer as a sacrifice to God. Not one of these statements cited in the Qur'an is true.
	Ishmael’s twelve sons were named Nebaioth, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. (Genesis 12:11-16) They intermarried with the local population in North Arabia and produced several nomadic tribes know as the “Ishmaelites.”
	The Torah predicted that Ishmael and his family would “live to the East of all his brothers.” (Gen. 16:12) “And they settled from Havilah to Shur which is east of Egypt as one goes toward Assyria.” (Genesis 25:18) This broad area is the desert section East of Egypt in Northern Arabia toward the kingdom of the Assyrians.
	The Ishmaelites are mentioned as a distinct tribe in the Assyrian records. They later intermarried with and were absorbed by the Midianites and other local tribes. In Gen. 37:25-28; 39:1, the Ishmaelites are called the Midianites and in Judges 8:22-24 cf. 7:1f, the Midianites are called the Ishmaelites. The identification cannot be made any stronger.
	Arabia was already populated by the descendants of Cush and Shem long before Abraham or Ishmael were born (Gen. 10:7). Their cities and temples have been well documented by archeologists.
	If all the Arab people descended from Ishmael as Muhammad claimed, where did all the original Arabs go? What happened to them? Who did Ishmael marry if the Arabs did not already exist? If Arabia was unpopulated, who built Mecca? Since he lived there, obviously it existed before he was born. The Arab people existed before, during, and after Ishmael moved started roaming the wilderness of North Arabia.
	The descendants of Ishmael were scattered in Northern Arabia from the wilderness of Shur to the ancient city of Havilah. They were absorbed by the local tribes such as the Midianites (Genesis 37:25-28; 39:1; Judges 8:24). There is no historical or archeological evidence that Ishmael went south to Mecca and became the “Father” of the Arab race.  Modern Arab scholars admit that before Muhammad, Qahtan was said to be the “Father” of the Arab people, not Ishmael.
	The Abrahamic Covenant was given only to Isaac and to his descendants. Ishmael and the other sons of Abraham were explicitly excluded by God from having any part of the covenant made with Abraham. (Genesis 18:18-21)
	Therefore the descendants of Ishmael and the other sons of Abraham do not have any claim to the land of Israel because they are not included in the covenant God made with Abraham. Only the Jews have any claim to the land of Israel.

Bin Laden is Wrong about Claims to Hegemony

Bin Laden claims to the right to control Israel are based on two false claims: first, that all Arabs are descendants of Ishmael (a claim disproved in the ten historical observations we've just listed) and second, that their false prophet Muhammad visited Jerusalem. Three historically verifiable observations disprove these two claims:

	The Arab people are not descendants of Ishmael. Therefore they are not the heirs of the Patriarchs, the prophets, the Scriptures, or the land of Israel.
	The claim that Muhammad went to Jerusalem is false. According to the Qur’an and the Hadith, Muhammad had a dream in the middle of the night in which he traveled through the sky, visited seven heavens, met great people like Jesus, and visited the Jerusalem. Since this was only a dream, he was never actually in Jerusalem. The Mosque on the temple site in Jerusalem is a hoax built on the lie that Muhammad stood on the site.
	Nowhere in the Qur’an does it state that Ishmael is the progenitor of the Arab race. Since it is not taught in the Qur’an, it cannot be a true Islamic belief.

And so I side with the Jews, who since 1948 have taken control of the land of their ancestors, a land that nomadic natives never bothered to cultivate as a national homeland in all of the centuries of opportunity that they did have to exercise hegemony over the land.

In the same way that nomadic American "Indians" never exercised ownership and dominion over the land here in the United States, thus losing it to later European settlers who established America, so also the nomadic Arabs never exercised ownership and dominion over the land of Israel, thus losing it to the Jews who settled in the land following the Balfour Declaration and the establishment of modern Israel in 1948.

Bin Laden also "advises" America "to stop supporting Israel, and to end your support of the Indians in Kashmir, the Russians against the Chechens and to also cease supporting the Manila Government against the Muslims in Southern Philippines." (Letter, ¶65). He tells us to "pack your luggage and get out of our lands. We desire for your goodness, guidance, and righteousness, so do not force us to send you back as cargo in coffins." (Letter, ¶66)

Bin Laden is Right about Al Qaeda's Motives

But being right about what motivates Al Qaeda's attacks on America is irrelevant in the long run. These attacks are in response to U.S. support of "attacks" against Muslims in Somalia, in Chechnya, in Kashmir, and "the Jewish aggression" against them in Lebanon. (Letter, ¶14) According to bin Laden, the objective of Al Qaeda and all conservative Muslims is the overthrow of and "the removal of these governments" as "an obligation upon us, and a necessary step to free the Ummah, to make the Shariah the supreme law and to regain Palestine. And our fight against these governments is not separate from our fight against you." (Letter, ¶20)

Actually, it would be more accurate to summarize the motives of conservative Muslims by quoting Russian President Vladimir Putin, who claimed on Monday, 11 November 2002 that "Islamic radicals are pursuing the systematic annihilation of non-Muslims." He said they're out to construct a world-wide caliphate. Putin also said that western civilization faces a mortal threat from Muslim terrorists, according to the United Kingdom's Telegraph. An internet news article co-written by respected Telegraph journalists Ambrose Evans-Pritchard and Julius Strauss also quoted Putin as having warned that the world no longer faces

isolated acts of terrorism but a "concerted effort and programme" by a global network bent on slaughter, perhaps with nuclear weapons. ... If the West failed to deal with the Chechen terrorist threat, he said, there would be repeats of the Moscow theatre siege and the Bali bombing "all over the world".

As a former KGB spy operative, Putin is well qualified to speak about the dangers of conservative Islam. He has correctly pointed out that Chechen Muslims want a caliphate, or Muslim state, “on Russia soil,” according to MSNBC, which has also reported:

Putin said that Islamic “radicals have much more ambitious goals. They talk about setting up a worldwide caliphate and the need to kill Americans and their allies.”

“They talk about the need to kill all ... non-Muslims, or ‘crusaders,’ as they put it. If you are a Christian, you are in danger,” Putin said.

“If you decided to abandon your faith and become an atheist, you also are to be liquidated according to their concept. You are in danger if you decide to become a Muslim. It is not going to save you anyway because they believe traditional Islam is hostile to their goals.”

Over the last few years, Putin has watched the entire southern Caucasus region of the former USSR between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea north of Turkey and Iran rebel against Russia. This area is Muslim-dominated.

The theological structure upon which bin Laden constructs his rationale for attacks on the United States is purely and solely Qur'anic in origin: "Allah, the Almighty, legislated the permission and the option to take revenge. Thus, if we are attacked, then we have the right to attack back. Whoever has destroyed our villages and towns, then we have the right to destroy their villages and towns. Whoever has stolen our wealth, then we have the right to destroy their economy. And whoever has killed our civilians, then we have the right to kill theirs." (Letter, ¶ 32)

The primary purpose of all Muslim terrorism being conducted today worldwide is to convert the world to conservative Islam. (Letter, ¶37-40) To put it bluntly, Russia's president Putin is right and America's president Bush is wrong. This conversion called for by bin Laden specifically involves "rejection of" the Christian doctrine of the Trinity and the divinity of Jesus Christ by embracing the "freedom from associating partners with" God (Letter, ¶38) According to bin Laden, Islam is the "seal of all the previous religions. It is the religion of Unification of God, sincerity, the best of manners, righteousness, mercy, honour, purity, and piety. It is the religion of showing kindness to others..." (Letter, ¶39)

Bin Laden is Wrong about America

According to bin Laden, the only motivation behind U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern Muslim nations is the theft of its oil and its other wealth, "the biggest theft ever witnessed by mankind in the history of the world." (Letter, ¶21-22)

Furthermore, according to bin Laden, the United States, not Iraq's Saddam Hussein, is responsible for the deaths of "1.5 million Iraqi children". (Letter, ¶23) He warns the United States: "Do not await anything from us but Jihad, resistance and revenge. Is it in any way rational to expect that after America has attacked us for more than half a century, that we will then leave her to live in security and peace?!!" (Letter, ¶25)

Because the American civilian population is the group that pays the taxes to support its armies, the civilian population is responsible for "helping the Jews fight" against Muslims. "This is why the American people cannot be not innocent of all the crimes committed by the Americans and Jews against us [Muslims]." (Letter, ¶28-31) America is "the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind." (Letter, ¶44) Horse puckey.

Bin Laden is Paranoid about Israel's Motives

"With your [i.e., America's] help and under your protection, the Israelis are planning to destroy the Al-Aqsa mosque." To facilitate assisting the Jews in carrying out this destruction, America moved its embassy to Jerusalem. (Letter, ¶24) Actually, Mr. bin Laden, if I read rightly the motives of the folk who run the Temple Institute in Jerusalem, you're wrong about this. They don't intend to destroy the Al-Aqsa mosque. That can stay where it is. Their Temple can be rebuilt to the north of it. They intend to destroy the Dome of the Rock and probably appropriate control of the Al Qaz fountain. But the motives of the folk at the Temple Institute did nothing to influence the removal of America's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Bin Laden is Right about Our Need to Repent

Like a broken clock right twice a day, bin Laden actually makes one correct call. He calls for the American people to "be a people of manners, principles, honour, and purity; to reject the immoral acts of fornication, homosexuality, intoxicants, gambling's, and trading with interest. We call you to all of this that you may be freed from that which you have become caught up in; that you may be freed from the deceptive lies that you are a great nation, that your leaders spread amongst you to conceal from you the despicable state to which you have reached." (Letter, ¶41-43)

But he erroneously claims that America is "the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind." (Letter, ¶44) Horse puckey. Look in the mirror for clues to that distinction, Mr. bin Laden.

Bin Laden correctly notes that America is guilty of separating "religion from your policies, contradicting the pure nature which affirms Absolute Authority to the Lord and your Creator. You flee from the embarrassing question posed to you: How is it possible for ... the Almighty to create His creation, grant them power over all the creatures and land, grant them all the amenities of life, and then deny them that which they are most in need of: knowledge of the laws which govern their lives?" (Letter, ¶45) Because he calls our Almighty God by the name of that false 7th century AD moon god Allah, we have edited out the name "Allah" where the ellipsis appears above.

Bin Laden correctly notes that some part of America permit the use of drugs, forbidding their trade but tolerating their use. (Letter, ¶47)

Bin Laden also notes that, to our shame, we permit "acts of immorality" as "pillars of personal freedom". (Letter, ¶48) President Clinton committed "immoral acts" in the Oval Office. "Is there a worse kind of event for which your name will go down in history and remembered by nations?" (Letter, ¶49) Bin Laden is right about that, too.

But bin Laden is wrong when he claims that America has "continued to sink down this abyss from level to level until incest has spread amongst you, in the face of which neither your sense of honour nor your laws object." (Letter, ¶48)

Bin Laden is wrong when he claims that AIDS is "a Satanic American Invention" (Letter, ¶53) He is flat out wrong when he claims that "You have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gases more than any other nation in history. Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement so that you can secure the profit of your greedy companies and industries." (Letter, ¶54)

Bin Laden is Wrong about Japan

Bin Laden claims that the United States "dropped a nuclear bomb on Japan, even though Japan was ready to negotiate an end to the war." (Letter, ¶56) This statement is historical revisionism at its best. The truth is that the Pacific Theater of World War II was fought against a religious system that, like today's conservative Islam, was motivated by theological ideals.

The two nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were necessitated in order to end military hostilities that were directly and proximately caused by Shinto's insistence that Japanese emperor Hirohito was divine and fully capable of defending the Japanese mainland from attack.

Shinto, the indigenous religion of Japan known chiefly for its cultic devotion to deities of natural forces and veneration of the Emperor as a descendant of the sun goddess, used to venerate Emperor Hirohito as a god. No military victory by America over Japan would have been possible without an attendant dethroning by the United States of Japan's false "god" Hirohito.

For America to stop militant Japan, it was necessary to demonstrate conclusively that Japan's emperor-god Hirohito was unable to protect his own home turf. Nagasaki and Hiroshima would be vaporized before the Japanese people would accept the surrender of their emperor-god, their armies, their air force, and their navy.

Bin Laden is Wrong about Past Muslim Victories

Bin Laden claims that in the past "the Islamic Nation that was able to dismiss and destroy the previous evil Empires like yourself; the Nation that rejects your attacks, wishes to remove your evils, and is prepared to fight you. You are well aware that the Islamic Nation, from the very core of its soul, despises your haughtiness and arrogance." (Letter, ¶78)

But bin Laden is wrong about that claim.

During the early formative years of the United States, our forefathers fought an international group of terrorists who, like today's conservative Muslims, made no distinction between geopolitical nation states. Like their 21st century counterparts, the Barbary Coast pirates were equal opportunity terrorists. As Dr. Rand Fishbein recently pointed out in his article entitled Echoes from the Barbary Coast, the Muslim Pasha of Tripoli, the Bey of Tunis, and several other Muslim nation states were soundly defeated by the USS Constitution during the formative years of the United States of America.

Mr. bin Laden, America has fought and defeated Muslim nations before. You and yours will shortly become like these.

Heeding Your Counsel, Fighting Your Cause

Mr. bin Laden, America is an introspective nation. As my friend Resa LaRu Kirkland has written in another forum, America's enemies

... bond together in their mutual treachery, and no malevolence is too much for them to consider. They will try to distract us from their wickedness by claiming it is all for God―as Islam does. Or it is our fault for being fat, spoiled Americans―as North Korea does daily. Or, even more vile, they will point to American sins and excess and claim that we are merely "reaping what we've sown." And being kind, forgiving and self-evaluating people, we hesitate just long enough for them to strike at us.

So those who fear God—the true God, not your false Allah—will humble themselves, and pray about the parts of your Letter to America that just happen to be true, and they will seek God's face. They will repent, both as individuals and as a nation. And our God will forgive and restore us. Along the way, all of us will fight as a redeemed people with a clear conscience. After all, only the guilty can be enslaved. Or conquered.

My Recommendations for Dealing with You

When the war powers that would be included as part of Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution of the nascent United States of America were being crafted, its Framers assumed that America's future wars would be conducted between nation states whose boundaries were geopolitically determined. After all, that's how war was waged back in the late 1700's. Nations fought nations, even when the fight was about religious ideologies such as the Catholics versus the Protestants. At the time the Constitution was being written, eighteenth century western Europe was fighting Napoleon Bonaparte's attempt to declare himself emperor of Europe and set up his own "New World Order".

But twenty-first century Muslim conservatives like you, Mr. bin Laden, who take the tenets of Islam taught in the Qu'ran and the Hadith seriously, have declared war on the United States and the West without considering geopolitical boundaries. To the conservative Muslim mind, there are only two groups of people in the world: those who belong to Dar al Islam (those who are submissive to Islam) and those who belong to Dar al Harb (those with whom Islam is at war until Judgment Day).

Today's conservative Muslims have declared a Jihad ("holy" war) against the United States, Israel, and any other nation or people that does not wish to convert—I employ the word deliberately—its culture, politics, religious values, and cultural mores to those of seventh century Arabia. Geopolitical considerations such as the boundaries of nation states are irrelevant to the Muslim Jihad. Accordingly, we must ask ourselves the following strategically significant question as we prepare for war in the Middle East:

What must the United States do to migrate from the 18th century to the 21st century with respect to its war powers so that the forces of militant Islam that declared war on the United States on September 11, 2001 can be combated effectively?

We suggest that the following three strategic factor should be kept in mind at all times by the war planners of the United States.

First, America's strategy to deal with global "terrorism" must begin with the understanding that America is not at war with that vague, ephemeral problem of "terrorism". It is at war with radical, conservative, "fundamentalist"—if you insist on using that overworked, meaningless term—Islam. Like it or not, we are fighting a false religious system, not a specific geopolitical nation state.

Conservative Islam cares nothing for geopolitical boundaries or for nation state identities.

Conservative Islam is the real culprit behind international terrorism, not that blend of western materialism, liberal Muslim ideology so often seen here in the United States.

Thankfully for us non-Muslims, much of modern US-based Islam has forsaken its Middle Eastern roots and has been diluted of much of its hatred of the Christian West.

But then again, all that means is that conservative Islam now hates many American Muslims, also. They have branded them as heretics from their "pure" Islam. The sad fact of international life today is that nobody has ever installed an airport security system in order to detect an Israeli terrorist threat. They're installed to detect Muslim terrorists threats and Muslim terrorist threats only.

Conservative Islam teaches from the Qu'ran and its secondary writings the Hadith that all non-Muslims are to be converted to Islam at the point of the sword, if necessary, or are to be executed. The only exception to this tenet are Christians and Jews, who may be enslaved or taxed heavily. Call us insensitive and intolerant if you will, but the truth is the truth, and it is the conservative Muslims who are intolerant and insensitive ― to western ways of life and to the Christian world view.

Second, because conservative Islam has spread itself throughout the world, the United States should not focus on a specific nation state, but must ignore geopolitical boundaries as it fights the forces of "international terrorism" (read that as "conservative Islam").

To blame the events of 11 September 2001 on Osama bin Laden's Al Qaida (one of many terrorist groups that operate according to the tenets of conservative Islam), the Afghanistan Taliban (the Islamic military/political party that ruled Afghanistan in 2001), and the government of Saudi Arabia that backed them financially without considering the theological infrastructure that informs the motives of these groups is to miss the larger picture of what motivates international terrorism today.

For example, clear and undeniable links have been discovered that tie the 11 September 11 2001 attacks on America to the Oklahoma City bombing. The United States must understand that attacking Iraq or Afghanistan will only result in attacks against the localized groups that have taken hold within those geopolitical areas. Other strongholds of conservative Islam remain that cannot be ignored with impunity. Once the war has begun, it must be fought to the finish, no matter where the trail of responsibility leads.

Third, because the fight against conservative Islam is a global fight that transcends international geopolitical boundaries, America must wake up to the harsh fact that World War III began on September 11, 2001. The links cited above that demonstrate beyond reasonable doubt that Al Qaeda was behind the Oklahoma City bombing also demonstrate that Al Qaeda's sponsorship of that tragedy was private.

Mr. bin Laden, I have elected to interpret your Letter to America as Al Qaeda's formal admission that it declared war on the United States on 11 September 2001 with its attacks on the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon, and the attempted attack on the White House on the morning of September 11, 2001.

It's Time for a Showdown

A few paragraphs ago we noted that bin Laden was wrong about Japan. But now we can say this about the precedent set by the United States in its struggle against Shinto's false theological view that Emperor Hirohito was divine: If America and the West is serious about victory over conservative Islam and its terrorism, then it's time for the United States to do the same thing with Islam that was done with Shinto's "god" Emperor Hirohito.

Mr. bin Laden, your rhetoric and bombast have been endured by the West long enough. It's time for a high-noon showdown between the true God and the false one. It's time to put Islam's false god Allah to a test reminiscent of what the Hebrew prophet Elijah did in his confrontation with the false prophets of the false Canaanite deity Baal.

Let us stage an international test to show that Islam is a false religion and its god a false god. Such a test will be carefully crafted to demonstrate that Allah is an impotent Arabian desert demon and not the true God to whom believing Jews and Christians bow as the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Our suggested test:
 Let the Ka'abah in Mecca and the Medina Mosque be destroyed.

The methodology for the destruction of the Ka'abah and Medina might be nuclear-tipped missiles that will reduce the Ka'abah and its "holy" site where Muslims worship a meteorite to a crater in the ground lined with melted rock.

But the destruction of the Ka'abah and Medina doesn't have to come from America. Maybe India will provide the service as a personal courtesy to freedom loving people who live around the world.

Or perhaps Israel might make a pre-emptive strike. (Note to Israel: please don't use your neutron weapons. Destroy the buildings, too, not just the infidels.)

Better yet, perhaps our God might just target a meteorite or two in that direction. It's happened before in history, if I read my Tanakh aright.

If Allah be God, then he can defend himself, his honor, and his turf. And if he be not God, let his turf be vaporized.

And then maybe, just maybe, you, Mr. bin Laden, might be granted grace from the true and living God to repent from your blasphemy, your hatred, your idolatries, and your murders to embrace the grace of God that is found in Jesus Christ, who died to redeem the sins of His elect and to purify to Himself a pure people who have been freed from the sad imprisonment in which you find yourself this day.

Turn from your sins, Mr. bin Laden, before it's too late. But then again, if you don't repent, I won't try to kill you. But I will be praying for you. That you receive justice. Or grace. According to whichever destiny our God elected you before the foundation of the world.
